There are many things that make ATA special, but without question, our casting agency is creating opportunities for our pupils that are off the scale!
Our agency is not handed over to an external company to manage, but rather it is run by our own staff team, headed by Jillian Morgans, all of whom know our pupils well and are able to target castings and auditions that are suitable and attainable for our budding young actors.
Our agency is unique in that, we work with each pupil to build their CV and experience. Many of our pupils build their experience by taking part in local productions, as ensemble, then featured roles, followed by lead roles. This greatly enhances our pupil’s CV’s ready for large-scale professional auditions and roles.
We have spent 20 years developing relationships with major casting directors and we are often asked to provide children for substantial projects. Most notably our pupils performed at the X Factor Live Final, regularly appear on Cbeebies for TV shows including Scrambled and Saturday Mash Up and this year were invited to perform for the Queens Royal Jubilee Pageant by TV producers who screened our pupils internationally as part of their ‘Decades’ show.
Over the past twenty years, we have worked with casting directors to secure roles for our pupils including; West End Productions and UK tours of ‘Imagine This’, ‘The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas’, ‘The Sound of Music’, ‘The Fantastic Mr Fox’, ‘The Railway Children’, ‘Oliver’, ‘A Christmas Carol’, ‘Waitress’ and ‘Ragtime’. Our pupils have won roles and performed in no less than 60 pantomimes across London and Kent and they have won roles in TV dramas and series including ‘Gold Digger’, ‘Oliver Twist’, ‘Doctor Who’, ‘Holby City’, ‘Cleaning up’, ‘Scoop’, ‘MI High’ and ‘The Truth of Murder’. TV commercials are regularly secured and to date, our pupils have appeared in around 100 adverts for major brands such as Nintendo, John Lewis, Aunt Bessie’s, Cadbury’s and McDonald’s to name a few.
This year alone ATA pupils have won roles in brand new TV series for Netflix and the BBC entitled ‘Champion’, The new hit drama series ‘Jungle’ for Amazon Prime,
Short film ‘Nose Picker’, ‘The Baby’ for Sky TV and HBO, ‘Harry Potter’ brand new immersive project for Warner Studio’s, TV commercials for Zoopla, Mcdonalds, Tesco and Frontline as well as ‘The Magic Flute’ at The Royal Opera House and leading roles and ensemble in around 10 major local productions at The Churchill Theatre, The Woodville Halls, The Broadway Studio Theatre, The Bob Hope, The Tramshed Woolwich and The Malthouse Canterbury. Pupils have had the chance to audition for major Movies and productions for Disney, Warner Studio, ITV and BBC productions including EastEnders and Hollyoaks, as well as all major West End Musicals and UK tours that cast children in the ensemble.
There is no charge from our casting agency for all ATA pupils to join. All we ask is that they have been training with us for over a term and of course we need a professional acting headshot to submit to casting directors.
We believe in nurturing our young actors and allowing them to gain confidence and experience, not only in performing arts, but also in auditioning successfully. ATA casting agency provides a unique and bespoke platform for them to be able to do just this. We guide them through making self-tapes, learning and choosing audition content and dealing with rejection, as well as success, gracefully.
