Joseph Cocklin is a former All the Arts pupil, after securing his first professional acting job at the age of 12, Joe signed a three year contract with the BBC to play ‘Donovan’ in M.I.High. He went on to feature in other roles such as : ‘Paul Grayson’ Casualty (BBC), ‘Aiden Bigsby’ Hollyoaks (Channel 4) and made his first American Television debut in Obsession: Dark Desires (Discovery HD US / Amazon Prime) as ‘Todd’.
Joe also worked for Disney in Sardinia, as well as, appearing in an off west end production of Dennis Kelly’s DNA in which he played the lead role. At the age of twenty one Joe decided to put his acting career on hold to pursue a career in directing. He attended the University of Arts London where he trained for three years and graduated with a 1st class honours degree in Film direction. Joe has now been invited back by the University to teach on the degree course.
He lectures and leads workshops at the university, working with the directing students. Joe has also taught in schools in and around south east London working for a film and theatre production company called ‘Broken Hearted Youth’.
Joe has been teaching Drama on a regular basis for the company since 2016 and casting actors for roles in the company’s film and theatre productions. He has worked at Thomas Tallis School in the Special educational needs department also. His own debut film ‘Home’ is currently being screened at film festivals world wide and he has just finished producing a short film called ‘Angry Face’, which was directed by award winning filmmaker Michael van der Put.
