Our Performing Arts Classes
Little Stars
After teaching Ballet to the younger age group for several years and finding that most children found the classes hard work and ‘not much fun’, we devised these new sessions especially for young children with lots of energy that really want to perform and build up confidence.
This class is fast-paced, fun and really grabs the attention of the younger performer.
Drama, Singing and Dance is covered in this carefully devised session. Our Little Stars learn rhymes and tongue twisters to help improve speech and dress up and act out different characters to help build confidence. We also learn fun and funky dance, including a full dance warm up incorporating all the basic steps for children of this age, teaching routines to all the latest chart hits and Disney songs. We encourage all of our pupils to sing in groups as well as individually, learning songs from Disney films as well as children’s musicals.
Little Stars are given the opportunity to take fun ‘Rosette’ exams with the IDTA dance board. At the end of each term we invite family and friends in to our class to watch a fun, low pressure, fully costumed short performance of all the things that we have learnt during the term. Past shows include Little Red Riding Hood, Finding Nemo, Peter Pan, The Gingerbread man and Snow White. Book early to avoid disappointment, as this is one of our most popular classes.
