We have come to the end of a momentous term. Not only because it is our first full term in two years, since the pandemic began. But also because of the amazing achievements from our pupils in just 12 weeks. We started the term with a superb set of IDTA results with all pupils scoring over 80% Outstanding scores! Particularly as so much of the exam work had been taught via Zoom. This was followed by a brilliant performance from our Juniors at the beautiful Hawth Theatre in Crawley where they received a well-deserved standing ovation. Our pupils then went on to win an array of professional roles through our casting agency, notably 10 more pupils performing at The Royal Opera House in productions of Jenufa, Macbeth and Tosca and Christmas TV commercials including; Aldi, Tesco, Ocado and Mcdonalds, Logitech and Sky TV drama ‘The Baby’ and pantomime roles in Ashford, Sevenoaks and Eltham.
Our juniors then performed in wonderful productions of ‘The Fantastic Mr Fox’, ‘The Witches’ and ‘Revolting Rhymes’. All Roald Dahl classics and all so well received by their audiences. They coped so well, despite many absences throughout the term due to pupils isolating. The plays were a resounding success. We are so proud of our juniors.
The icing on the cake has to be our annual senior Christmas Concert which raised over £1000 for the Roy Castle Foundation in aid of former ATA parent and local MP James Brokenshire who sadly passed away in October. Our seniors lit up the beautiful St Alfege Church in Greenwich with their beautiful vocals, bringing a tear to so many in the audience. It was such a joy to see them confidently performing in front of an audience again.
We would like to wish all of our ATA families a restful break from what has been a tremendous term at ATA. We can’t wait to see everyone in January for some exciting months ahead with performances planned at The Orchard, The Stag, The o2 and The Shaftesbury…. watch this space for more details soon!
