LAMDA Exams & Drama Festival 2017

LAMDA Exams & Drama Festival 2017

It's been a busy term as usual, our pupils are achieving amazing things through our casting agency, recalls for West End Shows and winning lead roles in local productions have been abundant, as well as a brilliant performance at The Mick Jagger Centre on Saturday and on top of all this it's LAMDA TIME AGAIN!!!!!

We are one of a very few local schools that offer our pupils the opportunity to take these prestigious exams. It is a hard task to get through the work required in classes, but we are lucky to have a very strong and dedicated drama department. Our principal Lucy is an Associate LAMDA teacher and currently runs the Speech & Drama department at Old Palace School of John Whitgift, Craig brings his classical training and directional experience and this term we have also had some brilliant coaching from our former student and Hollyoaks actor Joseph Cocklin as well as Hannah running junior coaching sesisons.

We have 100% pass rate for these challenging exams and last year we were featured in LAMDA's prospectus as one of the most successful theatre schools in South East London offering the LAMDA syllabus.

The solo Acting examinations qualify for UCAS points and all of the LAMDA certificates, at all grades, provide a brilliant documnet of progress and achievement for our pupils personal development records.

To show off this terms hard work, we will be running our annual drama festival at the end of term, where every single ATA pupil ( regardless of, if they opted to take the exam) will have the opportunity to perform an acting piece on stage. This year our festival adjudicators will be actors Jamie Morgan ( War Horse - West End ) and Gary Watson ( Jersey Boys, Les Mis & Mamamia - West End) We are delighted to welcome both Jamie & Gary to ATA and they will present ALL of our pupils with a certificate of acheivement, once again a great addition to our pupils extra curricular CV's.

We would like to wish all of our pupils the best of luck with their LAMDA exams and drama festival performance and express our thanks to our superb drama faculty at ATA.
